On Saturday morning we had the privilege to gather together with our extended Lower Lights family – our program volunteers. It was a wonderful time of eating together, building relationships, encouragement and supporting one another as we got to know others who are on this journey with us and share a common belief in the mission.
I was touched to hear how volunteering has changed not only the lives of the participants the volunteers work alongside, but also how it has impacted them personally. God has a way of building and growing us in unexpected ways and I am thankful He has used Lower Lights Ministries to speak into their lives through their service.
"While I hope that my volunteering will have a positive impact on someone, the far bigger change has been in me. Connecting with a diverse community of God’s people through volunteering has given me a new set of lenses through which to view life"
Our theme for the event was ‘Fruit of our Labor’ and we celebrated all God has done as we pursue and receive vision and hope for more fruit in the future.
