How can I take leaps of blind faith just like the new women in Rachel's House?

I have recently asked myself if I have ever been so desperate to try something completely new because everything else had proven empty, that I would step out in blind faith and trust God to provide, even down to underwear, deodorant, and a soft pillow?

In the last 25 days or so, we have welcomed three new ladies at Rachel's House to begin their new journey (another joins in several weeks). It’s been a while since we have had full capacity. If you had asked me last May if we would still be open (no access to inside prison due to covid), I might have wondered if we’d still have a program. But obviously, God has a way of making a way when we can’t see it at the time.

When new women come out of prison, oftentimes they come with a small bag of papers, certificates of programs they’ve completed, and letters/cards. With the ladies who’ve joined since Covid, they haven’t had the benefit of coming to the weekly Bible study group and asking questions. They literally walk out of the gates in faith of what we have talked about on the phone. Whether the desperation and willingness to try something different since nothing else has worked, determination and faith, or maybe a combination of it all; I never cease to thank the Lord for the living parable they/their journey is to me.

Do I trust God as my provider to help me restore and rebuild what the “years of what the locust have eaten and destroyed?”

The 'Rachel's House' journey is one of faith - trusting and obeying in a good and faithful Father who delights in his beloved daughters (and sons) and loves to lavish his goodness in abundance. When we truly know this about our own lives we can be empowered to take similar leaps of blind faith. .

Will you help provide a "welcome home" basket to our new Rachel's House residents? Here are some suggestions of what to put in them: Personal care items, New 'Life Recovery' bible, Devotional book/journal and pens, Towels, Home gifts e.g blankets, picture frames, Hair dryers/flat irons.

Thank you for supporting the new women on their journey to their hopeful future.
